I don’t think I’ve ever been this geeked about an upcoming drama season before, or maybe it just feels special ’cause it’ll mark my 1st year in the fandom. *throws confetti* lol. I remember watching HYD2 every week over a year ago, would read Lily’s translations then visit arashi.vox once in a while. Then I found out everyone’s raving about it at Livejournal so there, where it all started. Uh no, I won’t make a tl;dr entry here, promise. lol. So on with the drama prospects:
Honey and Clover (Hachimitsu to Kuroba)
It’s on the top of my list. I even read the first volume of the manga and watched the movie so that I’ll know what to expect, and given the fact that Toma will play the lead role (Takemoto Yuta, played by Sho in the movie version) is another thing to look forward to. I remember when Helen and I were talking about how he’s becoming a new model for Johnny’s, having a lot of dramas though he hasn’t debuted yet, I have to say that I’m simply proud of this guy, (lol, sounds like a mom, I know) not to mention he’s just really hardworking and dedicated to his work. LOL, Enough bias. Anyway, I hope that Hiro would be part of the cast too. Rumour has it that he’ll be playing Morita’s character. Oh yeah, more Hiro.
Btw, this was an excerpt from the manga that I thought was really nice, maybe the mangaka was a secret Arashi fan too, lol.
One Pound Gospel (Ichi Pondo no Fukuin)
Kame playing a gluttonous boxer, are you kidding me? I really lol-ed on this but then I can’t help but be interested and found myself downloading the first few chapters of the manga (I’ve yet to read it though). But really, what’s up with the producers/casting agents of this drama? I’m really curious as to what they’ll gonna do with Kame’s weight, though with being a boxer I won’t be surprised anymore since I’ve already seen him in Dream Boys. Anyhow, I’ll be looking forward to this, Maybe it’s just me, but I enjoyed most of his dramas (I cried a few times while watching THnK) so will be expecting more from this one too.
And then there’s Shingo-san and Goro-san’s new dramas, though I’ve only seen Goro when he guested in HanaKimi and Shingo on his appearance in Galileo (oh yes, the shower scene. lol). Still haven’t watched a lot of SMAP dramas so hopefully next season would be a major SMAP pimpage. (I’ll definitely finish all the KimuTaku ones that I put off for the longest time.)
Oh, how could I forget Tamaki with his new drama and Nodame Cantabile SP. Lol, another one on my pending list. Don’t know why I haven’t finished watching Nodame, lol. Yeah, good luck with all these drama catching up.
Lastly, if the rumours of a Jun winter drama will push through, I’d be very happy since I miss watching him since Bambino, but knowing he’ll be busy filming for his movies, I won’t mind if I had to wait for another season, I don’t want him to die of exhaustion, y’know.
So far these are the dramas that I’ve been anticipating, maybe if they confirm one of Hiro’s then I’ll definitely be so hyped about it. As of this season’s dramas, they’re… ok, I guess? I’m only watching Yukan Club, Utahime and Galileo so can’t say much yet. Will prolly watch the rest if I read some good reviews, just like what I did with Hotaru no Hikari, which is by the way, really nice, Fujiki Naohito was really kakkoii. And if you’ve seen it, that Teshima guy was in Kamen Rider Kabuto too, lol.
